About Us

The Anchors Away Foundation provides sailing programs for physically and intellectually disabled children 

The Anchors Away Foundation, an Aventura Marketing Council charity, was created in cooperation with the Miami-Dade County Public Schools Marine Academy to teach science, math, physical education and life skills to physically and intellectually disabled children, while giving them a career path in the marine industry.

    In 2002, Dr. Jayne Greenberg, District Director of Physical Education and Health Literacy for Miami-Dade County Public Schools, established a Marine Academy for over 1,000 physically and intellectually disabled students. Read More
